This afternoon on RTÉ 2fm, a brand-new U2 song had its very first radio airplay.
DJ Dave Fanning kept his long-standing tradition of releasing the Irish band's music on
the radio because he did not want to "break a habit of a lifetime."
Why break a lifetime habit when we can start over? he exclaimed.
At 4.15 in the morning, he called Tracy Clifford on RTÉ 2fm from Las Vegas to debut the song on Irish radio.
Since Las Vegas used to be known as Atomic City,
it is essentially a tribute to the location itself.
The music, in his opinion, was "perfect for three and a half minutes of U2."
