Steve Harvey is defending his spouse Marjorie after she landed herself in some warm water on social media.

Earlier this week, Marjorie, 53, posted a video of her and Steve, 61, cutting up fruits and veggies while making juice in their kitchen. In the clip, Marjorie makes use of the phrase “red,” an out-of-date pejorative normally aimed at humans with mental disabilities.

“I’m sitting right here arguing with my husband, ’cause genuinely he thinks I’m purple and I don’t recognize how to reduce a beet,” she says.

The video sparked outrage amongst social media users, who flooded the put-up with over 3,000 comments.

“As any individual who works with adults with Developmental Disorders and a loving sister of a stunning girl with Down Syndrome, I can guarantee you that when the phrase retard is used in a derogatory manner it is EXTREMELY offensive,” wrote one user. “People want to train themselves.”

Wrote another, “It wasn’t till I had my 1/3 daughter who has Down Syndrome that I realized how offensive the R-word can be. As a mom to an infant with distinctive wants listening to this phrase is definitely heartbreaking and makes my belly turn.

Harvey quickly intervened, leaping to his wife’s defense.

“What you Trippin bout reason my spouse stated the word it’s a phrase ain’t it?” he commented on the post. “And she ain’t speaking bout no person however herself to me … What she used to be doing was once simply that and she ain’t announcing it bout nobodies baby… I don’t ever remark, however, damn are you simply searching for something to be pissed off about purpose we aren’t… and I wrote it
